2026 CIRI Photography Contest

Who:

CIRI Shareholders and confirmed Descendants ages 10-18+ are invited to submit photos for the 2026 CIRI Photography Contest. One submission per person, please. This year’s theme is “In Perspective.”

Submission guidelines:

Photographs may depict culture, traditions, landscapes and the environment, wildlife, people and other subjects inspired by the theme. Submissions will be judged on various factors, including composition, perspective and creativity.

Entrants under the age of 18 must submit a Parent/Legal Guardian Acknowledgement and Agreement. For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian and provide it to CIRI upon request.

Photos may only be submitted electronically; hard-copy submissions will not be accepted. Photos must be at least 1MB and no larger than 20MB. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person’s rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible. No borders, frames, watermarks or signatures may be added.

If the entrant is chosen as a winner, I authorize CIRI, at its discretion, to publish his or her name, community, cultural affiliation and reproductions of the winning photograph in CIRI’s print and online materials, including the CIRI newsletter, and understand there will be no financial compensation of any type associated with any such use or publication.
4. I understand that there may be taxes due if a prize is received, and acknowledge that CIRI is not responsible for payment of any such taxes.
5. I affirm that I have read the guidelines and that the information provided on this entry form is true and correct to the best of my knowledge. I understand that any misrepresentation or concealment of information will be grounds for rejection of the entry.

3. At CIRI’s discretion, the winners’ names, communities, cultural affiliations and reproductions of their photographs will be published in CIRI’s print and online materials, including the CIRI newsletter, and their entries displayed at CIRI’s Friendship Potlatches.
4. I agree to hold CIRI harmless for any and all liability whatsoever in connection with the 2026 CIRI Photography Contest.
